It’s our aim that in all of the work we do, we deliver a welcoming experience for everyone.

Closer to the festival weekend, on this webpage, we’ll share specific information that might help you plan and navigate the festival, supporting you to make the most of your experience. This includes information such as:

  • Information Points, where you can pick up a programme or speak to an information assistant
  • Parking
  • Toilets
  • Quiet Space
  • Free Access kits, which include ear defenders, a large print programme, a fidget toy, a laminated map and a notebook and pen
  • Venue Accessibility, both ‘at a glance’ and a full plain text PDF including location, entrance, nearest toilets and whether seating is available

Some quick guidance on what to expect during a festival weekend.

The festival takes place in Blackburn town centre, in over 20 venues. Some of these are temporary venues like marquees and gazebos, others are shop units, heritage buildings and galleries.

The festival weekend can be a busy and often loud environment, with amplified outdoor music in some areas and lots of people in the town centre. Each year, we ensure there is a designated Quiet Space for anyone in need of a quiet room or a private area.

We have two Information Points in different areas of the town where you can speak to an information assistant, pick up a programme, or collect one of our free access packs. 

We strive to work towards an accessible programme of events, but regret that not all the venues we work with have level access. When venues are confirmed, we will update this webpage with clear access information. ‘At a glance’ versions of this information are also always included in the printed brochure.

Our team is always learning, and we aim to improve the accessibility of the event each year. If there are ways we can support you to access the festival, or if you have any questions or feedback, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help make your festival experience as enjoyable as possible.  

Due to working in a town centre environment and temporary spaces, some of the information, such as Venue Accessibility, may only be available two weeks before the festival.
