Environment & Sustainability

Festival of Making CIC produces a large-scale public event as well as year-round projects and commissions.

Our operations have an impact on the environment, and we are committed to understanding and learning from that impact through our Environmental Policy, Action Plan, Julie’s Bicycle Creative Climate Tools and our own team development.

Our work celebrates ‘making’ in all its forms and we will seek to embed sustainability within that, encouraging conversation, inspiration and even innovation. As a team, we are by no means experts. However, through continuous dialogue with partners, artists and stakeholders, we are evolving in our sustainability journey – learning through a combination of listening, sharing and doing.

We are one of the founding members of LANDS, an arts and sustainability working group programme launched in collaboration with Arts Lancashire. An acronym for Lancashire Arts Network for Developing Sustainability, together we share knowledge and best practice across our local sector in an effort to make our field more sustainable.
