National Festival of Making and designer and maker Nick Vorstermans from Studio Critical: invite you to take part in a Spoon Carving workshop using locally sourced, sustainable green wood salvaged from urban trees that fell naturally or were trimmed.

Using traditional woodworking techniques, you will carve a functional cooking spoon and will learn about designing, sourcing wood and be shown how to safely use carving hand tools
Each participant will leave with a functional cooking spoon and the knowledge to start their own carving projects.
Practical Bits
- These workshops are open to ages 18 and over.
- The cost is £10.00 to attend.
- Limited availability with 8 places.
- All materials will be provided.
- No previous woodworking experience is required!
- This workshop will last approximately 2.5 hours.
- Refreshments will be provided, please let us know in advance of the workshop if you have any food allergies.
- This workshop will take place on the ground floor of Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery. There is ramp access to the building.
